Intro

Let's get an overview of what you will and won't be learning in this training material, a quick look at how to use this system, and an idea of what other resources are available.

Getting Started

Feel free to click around and explore. If you haven't already, please sign up so we can give you access to restricted content, and so you can opt in to find out when there are additional resources or events.

What you'll need

  • Curiosity and a passion... either for justice or just to learn
  • Willingness to let go of common myths you may have believed
  • Time for dedicating yourself to learning how the law works
  • Documents related to your currently-active court case, if any

How to Use

The training material is presented in a format that should work well on a variety of devices, from your phones to your tablets and your widescreen monitors.

For the restricted content, you may only use one device at the time. Logging in to one will log the others out.

The content is all modular, so that you can approach it in whatever manner suits your mood and current needs. Sometimes, you might have a particular topic in mind, and you can select that topic to access all of the pertinent modules. Or you might suddenly find yourself being dragged into court about something, so you can select a similar-looking scenario to see which modules apply to that, and focus on learning those. And on another day, you might find yourself with nothing in particular in mind, so you just browse the content by popularity or in alphabetical order... or vote on a proposed new scenario or topic... or suggest a new scenario or topic to be added, so that others may vote on it.

Higher-Level Navigating

On the left side (which is collapsed into a menu if you're on a narrow phone view), you have a navigation sidebar.

Page-Level Navigating

On the right side, you'll see an outline of the content you're in the middle of learning, with a highlight that follows your current progress.

Grab a Link

On each text heading, you can get the deep link for that particular portion of content, which is really useful if you want to share what you're learning with someone else, or begin a discussion about it.

What to Expect

You will become fluent in legal concepts and pertinent terminology. You will be capable of defending yourself in civil or criminal matters. This includes writing the necessary documents and knowing how and where to file them. You will understand the patterns of how court actions work. You will be comfortable with petitions, motions, objections, briefs, replies, and more. You will gain the skills and tactics to win. In a variety of scenarios, you will be able to identify your rights, your legitimate options, and their respective feasibilities. You will be able to handle yourself with confidence and poise in a courtroom setting. You will be able to conduct all kinds of discovery to get evidence. You will know how to best respond if someone else is using discovery to make you produce evidence. You will grow in the important skill of being able to see any given scenario from multiple perspectives, as each role has its unique challenges.

If you are an attorney and have been through law school, some of this material will be familiar to you already. You are likely to have some questions, where the law clearly says one thing but there are discrepancies with your training; no problem. We are all learning.

If you have never been through any law school, you will still come out of this training with enough knowledge and understanding to stand toe-to-toe with attorneys who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain their bar membership card. You will be able to meaningfully support your right to do what you need to do without hiring an attorney. And if you do hire an attorney, you will be able to tell him or her exactly what to do and not to do.

You will learn how to hold attorneys accountable. And judges. And peace officers. And clerks. And notaries public. And anyone in public office who is not doing what the law requires of them. And anyone not in public office who commits a crime, as defined by the state and/or federal legislators. You will also be able to sue anyone you need to, and begin with an effective tort letter to maximize your chances of getting your opponent to agree with you before having to be taken to court.

Perhaps most importantly of all, you will come away with the knowledge and confidence to be able to go look up whatever you don't yet know, and readily identify what's real vs fake before you adopt any new potentially-enlightening perspectives.

What Not to Expect

This is not a place for legal advice. You will not get specific advice as to any particular situation you might be encountering. This is not a place for representation. We will not go into court representing you. This is not a place for digging deep into the philosophical underpinnings of the law. We focus on what works and how to use it, not really on the history or the "why".

Don't expect to see any of the dangerous "sovereign citizen" talk, or legal-ish garbage that gets people into trouble. You will not get any info about c'est-que-vie trust funds with zillions of dollars connected to your birth/berth certificate, or about magic meanings behind colors of ink and angles of writing. You will not be taught how to change your status or claim redemption or how to invent a bunch of false liens against judges or how to dub yourself an independent postmaster. We will identify and debunk some of those pitfalls, to help you steer clear, but rest assured: no matter how nice some of it sounds, you don't want any part of that.

There are some major issues where traction could be had, but we don't currently address. We may in the future, but since we focus on what has proven to be safe and effective, we don't teach on those issues yet. For example, federal income tax on your earnings, employer withholding, property taxes on your home, registration and inspection of your personal cars and trucks, right to travel, etc.

Other Resources and Events

In addition to the training material in text format, we also have screencasts and audio recordings. For most of the court documents we teach you about, we also offer example documents showing you exactly what it looks like, or even giving you downloadable templates to use.

From time to time, we will also hold paid events such as seminars on selected topics of interest, or workshops where people can bring their own scenarios and others can benefit from watching us deal with it, real-time. The way you will find out about these is via opt-in notifications or on this website.

Enjoy!
