Courtroom Tips

Part of what we learn to do is on paper, or digital documents. For most beginners, that's probably the comfort zone.

At some point, though, you may end up in a courtroom. Navigating those interactions, especially real-time, can be intimidating and feel unnatural, as though everyone is dancing a special dance that you have never learned. But fortunately, there's not that much to learn; it's pretty straightforward.

  • Be polite and respectful
  • Do your best not to interrupt the judge
  • If you need to object, do so quickly, and specify a good reason
